4 Common depression types and where to seek help.
As a person struggling with paranoid schizophrenia, I
found that there are 4 common depression types that you may experience.
Before we jump right in, this question comes: what is
depression?
According to WHO, depression is a common mental
disorder that different from usual mood change. Deppersion can lead to symptoms
such as hallucinations, poor concentration, and overthinking.
There are commonly 4 types of depression that people
experience.
# 1 Major depression
You are in a state of dark mood all along sometimes
including symptoms like feeling worthless, changes in appetite, and sleep
problems. I experienced this from what I call one of the darkest times in my
life. What I do is simply to alienate and isolate myself which also prevents me from doing things such
as attending my lecture.
# 2 Persistent depressive disorder
You feel depressed for two years. It is also known as dysthymia.
It's not as servere as major depression because you can still do your day-to-day
business but sometimes you feel thorn inside. I once met people with this kind
of depression they usually recover after two years (to be honest makes me
jealous).
# 3 Bipolar disorder
You went through depression but, you also have a
maniac symptom. The maniac symptoms include feeling great, having a lot of energy, and talking quickly. You will also experience drastic mood changes from bad to
good.
# 4 Seasonal Affective Disorder
Your mood changes as the day gets shorter in fall and
winter. There is also a change in your daily routine.
Where to seek help for depression?
You can simply seek help from your regular doctor or
maybe a psychiatrist. Start by identifying your symptoms first then, seek help
sometimes a clinical psychologist can also help with depression.
