A Letter to People I Haven’t Met Yet # 2 Dear Future Wife
From Fredric Avelin age 25
Dear Future Wife,
I don’t even know your name yet or what you’re from even what you’re doing today. But I’m curious is you thinking of me right now?
Future Wife I know the Avelin name comes with many privileges. But I hope you won’t stay still until the day we meet. I hope you are living your life now, as a person weather you work, having your own buisness or even just creating your own mark in this world.
I know quite hard right but I want you to also life your life as you are not someone that keeps waiting for life to start after marriage.
In the future when we finally got married, I wont promise that our relationship would be perfect. I know we’re two different people that raised in two different households and environment.
We will argue that’s for sure.
We even have a cold war with each other. But despite that I want to learn how to be someone that admits my mistakes and didn’t feel an apology meaning that I accept defeat.
I want to learn how to really get through day by day with you.
Wifey,
Even though I born as an Avelin I want an ordinary life. I imagine the nights we spend talking before sleep. I also imagine we can just sit together without worrying about what to talk to each other. I even imagine that we talk our live together near a mountain or a beach. We walk there and talk about many things.
I hope you won’t be afraid to tell me the truth every time something bad happens. Or every time you need my shoulder to cry on.
I want to be honest even if you know honesty can hurt me, even if we disagree on something. I don’t want us to be enemies I want us the be the understanding couple that puts our relationship first then our differences.
Wherever you are right now. Wherever steps or stage you are in weather still chasing your dreams, having a bad day even when you feel like marriage is so far away from you right now.
I don’t hope that you come to meet me ASAP.
I trust the process because I know the day we meet will be the day that we knew ourselves well to choose each other.
Future wife,
I don't know who you are yet, and I won't pretend that writing this letter brings me any closer to finding you. But somewhere in the future, if our paths cross, I hope we meet as two people who have lived their lives fully—and are ready to share what comes next.
Until we meet,
I hope you're living a life that makes you happy.
I'll do the same.
And perhaps, someday, we'll find our way to each other.
Until then, take care of yourself.
Fredric
