Standing at the Crossroads: From the Cross to the Resurrection

Have you ever felt like your life is at a crossroads?

A new season is about to begin, yet you still feel tied to the last one. You’ve been praying, believing, and hoping—but sometimes the fulfillment feels so far away, and other times, frustratingly close.

In these moments, it’s easy to feel stuck—caught between where you were and where God is leading you.

This feeling isn’t new.

Just like the disciples in the days between the Cross and the resurrection, we often find ourselves in a space of uncertainty. They had witnessed the crucifixion. The promise they believed in seemed gone. And yet, resurrection was already in motion—even when they couldn’t see it.

Those three days remind us of something powerful:
Even in silence, even in waiting, God is still working.

The Art of Waiting: Trusting God in Uncertainty

I understand this season personally.

I’ve been waiting, praying, trying, and failing—over and over again—for the past two years. It hasn’t been easy. There were moments of discouragement, moments where giving up felt easier than continuing.

Maybe you’re in that place too—waiting for God’s promises to come true.

Waiting can feel like a wilderness. Every step forward seems slow, and sometimes it feels like nothing is happening at all. But the truth is, waiting is not wasted time.

It is in the waiting that:

  • Faith is refined
  • Patience is strengthened
  • Hope is deepened

Isaiah 40:31 reminds us:

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

God is not inactive in your waiting.
He is renewing you, strengthening you, and preparing you.

Waiting Is Preparation, Not Delay

Waiting is not just about anticipation—it’s about preparation.

During seasons of waiting, God is shaping you spiritually, emotionally, and mentally for what’s ahead. He is building your character, strengthening your endurance, and drawing you closer to Him.

Romans 8:25 says:

“But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”

Throughout the Bible, we see that waiting has always been part of God’s process:

  • Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for Isaac
  • Joseph waited 13 years through slavery and prison
  • Moses waited 40 years in the wilderness
  • Jacob worked and waited 14 years to marry Rachel

None of these seasons were wasted.
Each one was preparation for something greater.

So maybe—just maybe—this season in your life is not God delaying His promise, but God preparing you to receive it.

Easter, God’s Promises, and the Power of Waiting

The story of Easter beautifully connects waiting and fulfillment.

Between the Cross and the resurrection, there was silence. Confusion. Grief. Waiting.

But that waiting led to victory.

Easter is the ultimate reminder that:

  • God keeps His promises
  • Darkness never has the final word
  • Waiting always has purpose

The resurrection of Jesus is proof that what looks finished is not truly over. What seems delayed is not denied.

In your own life, the waiting season may feel heavy—but it is not empty.

God is working behind the scenes.

He is aligning things you cannot see.
He is preparing blessings you cannot yet imagine.
He is writing a story that is not finished yet.

When Waiting Feels Too Long

Let’s be honest—waiting is hard.

It’s okay to feel tired.
It’s okay to fail and start again.
It’s okay to cry and ask, “God, why is this taking so long?”

God is not afraid of your honesty.

And in the middle of it all, remember this truth:

He is Immanuel—God with us.

You are not waiting alone.

And in His perfect timing—not yours, not mine—
He will fulfill His promises.

Final Thoughts: Hold On, Your Season Is Coming

If you’re standing at a crossroads today, don’t lose heart.

The same God who brought resurrection after the Cross is still at work in your life.

Your waiting has meaning.
Your struggle has purpose.
Your breakthrough is coming.

Did this speak to you?
Share this with someone who needs encouragement today. And I’d love to hear from you—what has God been teaching you in your season of waiting?
