The world these days is wild, people can just post something that can initiate hatred and often can be processed as cyber bullying. Maybe some will have to go to jail because of their posts.

Especially these days the antisemitism movement and many hate movement not only towards a country but also toward a person or a community. You may be familiar with things such as cyberbullying, haters, antis and many more. As a mental illness patient, I get sensitive about these topics. Because social media is full of things that can make me paranoid. I keep comparing myself to other people by their posts.

Here are the impacts of block, unfollow and unsubscribing due to my mental health:

# 1 Limits my overthinking

There is a quote that I always said for these: “You cannot control what people say but you can control what you want to take to heart”. When it comes to social media contents, I notice there are many hates there simply what I did just block, unfollow and unsubscribe because I don’t want to overthink those things cause that’s bad for my mental health.

# 2 Comfort me sometimes

When I was down, I usually scroll over my threads because with threads, I have unfollowed, unsubscribe and blocked anything that I don’t want to take it to heart or simply negative things. It’s all because I want to feel stronger and motivated, that’s why I only keep the positive ones and the accounts that can motivate me more!

#3 Motivate, increase productivity, and enlighten me.

What do you want to feel when opening social media? Do you want to feel insecure by everyone’s success? Or do you want to feel enlightened, motivated, and more productive?

Blocking, unfollow and unsubscribe makes me rethink my proposal when opening social media that I want to be able to laugh, to be more productive and enlighten not be insecure by everyone’s success or outraged because of the hate.

What other Impact that you experience after block, unfollow, and unsubscribe? Be sure to let me know in the comments.
